What crosses your mind when you think of booking a massage therapy appointment?  You might consider the massage therapist’s practice location, their availability and perhaps whether they offer treatments like acupuncture.

While these are all important factors, do some research about the healthcare provider you are going to see. That’s where the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario’s public register comes in.

This public register contains up-to-date information about every massage therapist in Ontario, including those who are no longer practising. Through this register, you can:

  • Confirm whether the massage therapist is certified to practise in Ontario, and when they became certified in the province.
  • Look up massage therapists by location, gender, languages spoken and whether they can provide acupuncture treatment.
  • Find out if they are registered with another regulated profession in Ontario or elsewhere.
  • See any terms, conditions or limitations applicable to their practice and any conduct history and disciplinary measures imposed.

Protecting the public interest lies at the heart of what the College does. Central to this mandate is ensuring that you have access to accurate information about the healthcare provider you are going to see. Find more information at cmto.com/lookbeforeyoubook.
