How to improve cashflow on the farm

What would an extra $1,000,000 in cashflow do for your farm?

For many farmers, it would ease the financial impacts of purchasing important inputs such as fuel, fertilizer and seed. It would also increase their ability to meet their financial needs while waiting to sell their agricultural products.

With the Advance Payments Program, or APP, farmers can access up to $1,000,000 in cash advances based on the expected value of their products. To help reduce repayment costs, the interest on the first $250,000 will be covered by the Government of Canada.

Advances are repaid as farmers sell their products, with up to 18 months to fully repay the advance for most commodities and up to 24 months for cattle and bison.

These advances are issued on behalf of the Government of Canada by 30 third-party producer organizations (APP Administrators) across Canada. Advances on most 2023 production will be available starting in April.
