(NC) Experts are anticipating this season to be bigger and more cheerful than ever. According to a recent survey, Canadians can expect to see more gifts this December, as 80 per cent of retailers across the country anticipate an increase in sales for the 2017 holiday season.

To accommodate the expected shopping surge — both online and in-store — retailers are adjusting their inventory and distribution plans.

“With this fundamental shift we started working with our customers much earlier this year to meet their demand for earlier holiday shipments,” explains Ramsey Mansour, vice president of corporate strategy and marketing at Purolator. “We pride ourselves on helping customers deliver their promises, especially at this time of year.”

 To the Far East, including China, Japan and Thailand, by Friday, Dec. 15

 To Mexico, Caribbean, South and Central America, by Monday, December 18

 To Western Europe, including the United Kingdom, France and Germany, by Monday, December 18

 To Australia, by Monday, December 18

 Other international destinations (for example, Eastern Europe, Africa, South Asia and the Middle East), by Monday, December 11
